Mr. Minkiewicz is a partner at the law firm Kelley, Drye, and Warren in Washington D.C., where he represents the industry group, Fisheries Survival Fund. Mr. Minkiewicz holds a J.D. from the University Of Oregon School Of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from Colby College. He is admitted to the Massachusetts and District of Columbia bars. While at Colby College, Mr. Minkiewicz participated in the SEA semester program. Upon graduating law school, he was the senior council and staff director of the Subcommittee on Oceans, Fisheries and Coast Guard of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation under Subcommittee Chair Senator Olympia Snowe (R-ME). He served as a Sea Grant fellow and legislative assistant for Governor John Kitzhaber (OR) in his Washington, D.C. office. Mr. Minkiewicz actively participates in regional fishery Council meetings, policy discussions with members of Congress and NOAA offices, and provides written and oral testimony on behalf of Fisheries Survival Fund. Additionally, Mr. Minkiewicz has been a presenter at the Marine Resource Education Program where he has spoken on such topics as the Magnuson-Stevens Act and Congress’s role in fishery management. He has been honored with the United States Coast Guard Meritorious Public Service Award.
