Ms. Didriksen is the owner and operator of New Bedford Ship Supply, one of the oldest ship chandleries on the East Coast. She comes from a long lineage of fishermen, including her grandfather and father, who emigrated to the U.S. from Norway and eventually made their way to New Bedford because of the access to Georges Bank.
As an owner of several groundfish vessels and regular attendee of the New England Fishery Management Council meetings, Ms. Didriksen is committed to ensuring that the fishing industry is represented and will thrive for years to come. She has been honored for her work by the Commercial Marine Expo for her years of service to the New England Fishing Communities with the Mayor’s Professional Mariners Award.
